Following the orders of Grand Shia Jurist Ayatollah Shirazi, the construction of Imam Al-Mahdi Mosque in western Accra, the capital of Ghana was begun. It is worth noting that a group of Shia believers and advocates of the Grand Jurist paid for a piece of land, so as to construct a mosque, where they can have their religious gatherings in this African country. This project was begun during a ceremony, which was attended by various groups of Muslim clerics, the Shia in Africa and advocates of the Grand Ayatollah Shirazi.
