In a specialized session held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, by the Al-Furat Center for Development and Strategic Studies—an institution affiliated with the religious authority in the holy city of Karbala—the deep-rooted issues of Iraq's economy and their repeated consequences were discussed. The session was attended by university professors, research center directors, writers, and intellectuals. Researcher Mr. Hamed Abdul-Hussein Al-Jubouri presented a paper titled "Iraq’s Economy: Deep-rooted and Recurrent Problems". In his paper, he emphasized that despite Iraq’s abundance of resources, its economy remains highly vulnerable to both internal and external crises. He argued that this vulnerability is not merely a result of crises themselves, but rather stems from the weak and fragile structure of Iraq’s economy.
