In the early days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH, centers affiliated with the Marja’iyya of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi in Afghanistan carried out a series of religious, social, and humanitarian programs in the cities of Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif.
At the Marja’iyya office in Kabul, a grand mourning ceremony was held to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (peace be upon him), with the participation of scholars, seminary students, office members, and groups of believers. In this gathering, Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Reza Amini (may he be protected) delivered a speech, highlighting the scholarly virtues and lofty status of the noble Imam.
Additionally, on the morning of Eid al-Adha, the Eid prayer was held at the Kabul Marja’iyya office with a large turnout of believers, scholars, and students. The prayer and sermons were led by Hujjat al-Islam Hassani, a member of the Marja’iyya office. In his sermons, he called for piety, discipline, and social solidarity, and elaborated on the theological, ethical, and educational messages of this great Islamic occasion.
In Mazar-i-Sharif, on the first day of Eid al-Adha, the Marja’iyya office, in cooperation with charitable organizations, carried out the ritual slaughter of dozens of sheep and one cow. The meat from these sacrifices was distributed among hundreds of needy and orphaned families.
Continuing their humanitarian efforts, the Marja’iyya office also inaugurated the 60th drinking water well in the Husseinabad area of Mazar-i-Sharif. This project, carried out in cooperation with the al-Mustafa Cultural and Charitable Foundation, was launched to provide safe drinking water to residents of this underprivileged region. The office officials stated that the project was implemented in response to the urgent needs of the local population and as part of the Marja’iyya’s service-oriented strategies.
These efforts, carried out under the guidance of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi, aim to improve the quality of life for believers, fulfill the essential needs of impoverished families, and enhance living conditions in disadvantaged areas of Afghanistan.
