The Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) Islamic Thought Center—one of the centers affiliated with the Marja’iyyah in Baghdad—has commenced mourning ceremonies marking the tragedy of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) and his purified family (peace be upon them), coinciding with the beginning of Muharram 1447 AH.

These gatherings will continue for ten days and are being held with the wide participation of believers, servants of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), and the general public of mourners.

The purpose of these programs is to keep alive the memory and message of Ashura and to honor the noble martyrs of Karbala (peace be upon them).
