The Al-Najaf al-Ashraf Strategic Studies Center, one of the centers affiliated with the Marjaʿiyyah in the holy city of Najaf, launched its second academic conference titled “Islam and Peaceful Coexistence in the Thought of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husayni Shirazi (may his shadow endure).” The three-day conference will host researchers, scholars, and social activists.
The first day focused on “Women Between the Muhammadan Mission and Social Challenges: A Review of the Recommendations of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husayni on Strengthening Women’s Leadership Roles.” Hundreds of active women in religious and cultural fields attended and shared their perspectives on the role of women in Islamic society and their capacities in leadership and cultural engagement.
Participants also emphasized the importance of following the guidance of the Marjaʿiyyah to enhance women’s participation in decision-making and social responsibilities. Various aspects of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi’s thought regarding social justice and peaceful coexistence were discussed.
