The Misbah Alhussein Cultural and Charitable Foundation in the Holy City of Karbala (under the supervision of the Office of the Religious Authority) is implementing the “Karbala 2030 Vision – 50 Million Pilgrims” project as part of its efforts to prepare the city for the world’s largest pilgrimage gathering during Arbaeen.
This comprehensive initiative aims to enhance infrastructure, healthcare services, and transportation systems to improve the pilgrimage experience for millions of visitors. Weekly project meetings are held with professors from the University of Karbala, technical advisors, government officials, and local administrators to review all details related to crowd management and urban services.
According to the foundation’s officials, the project is in its final stages, and a detailed report featuring scientific and practical solutions for managing millions of pilgrims is being prepared. The plan seeks to strengthen inter-agency coordination, improve urban services, and ensure a safe and organized environment for the Arbaeen pilgrimage in Karbala.
