The Misbah Alhussein Cultural and Charitable Institute in the holy city of Karbala, operating under the supervision of the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husayni Shirazi, may Allah prolong his life, participated in the third session of the Karbala Advisory Council. The meeting was held at the invitation of Mr. Ali Kamuna, representative of the United Nations in Karbala, under the chairmanship of the Governor of the Holy City of Karbala, and was attended by a group of local figures and intellectuals.
During the session, vital issues related to the development of the holy city of Karbala and the welfare of its residents were discussed.
Mr. Abdulsahib Alkashwan, a director of Misbah Alhussein Institute, stated that the institute’s participation reflected its commitment to supporting development-oriented projects and strengthening cooperation between official institutions and civil society organizations to achieve public welfare.
He explained that Misbah Alhussein Institute presented four developmental proposals that were well received by the attendees, with the Governor promising to follow up on their implementation. These proposals include:
Encouraging diplomatic missions to open representative offices in the Holy City of Karbala to enhance its international standing.
Advocating for the establishment of local branches of official departments, such as document authentication, company registration, and corporate and NGO taxation, to facilitate citizens’ affairs.
Activating and overseeing the “Smart Karbala” application to provide electronic services for residents and pilgrims.
Developing and organizing the province’s public transportation sector to meet the growing needs of citizens and visitors.
Alkashwan concluded by affirming that Misbah Alhussein Institute, as part of its social responsibility, will continue to cooperate with relevant authorities to achieve these proposals.
