A delegation from the Public Relations Office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi met with tribal leaders in Holy Kadhimayn, Baghdad, to discuss cooperation and ongoing engagement between religious authorities and tribal leadership.
The delegation held talks with Mr. Khalid Al-Bawi, head of the Al-Bawiya tribe, and Mr. Abu Wissam Al-Bawi, head of the Boukhamees Al-Bawiya tribes.
Mr.Khalid Al-Bawi welcomed the delegation, describing the visit as a constructive step that reflects the Religious Authority’s commitment to maintaining regular communication with tribal leaders. He highlighted the historical role of Iraqi tribes in national events, including their participation in the 1920 uprising and their support for the religious ruling issued by Grand Ayatollah Mirza Muhammad Taqi Shirazi, may Allah bless his soul. He also recalled the tribes’ backing of the religious decree calling for collective duty to confront terrorism and liberate Iraq.
Sheikh Al-Bawi stressed the importance of continued cooperation and communication between the Religious Authority and tribal leaders.
Members of the visiting delegation conveyed a message from Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi, may Allah prolong his life, and presented the tribal leaders with a collection of his books and lectures.
