With the beginning of the month of Muharram 1448 AH, the office of the eminent religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi (may God grant him a long life), in Kabul, Afghanistan, has commenced the mourning ceremonies for the first ten days of Muharram.
These ceremonies began on the first day of Muharram and will continue until the end of the first ten days of this mourning month.
Many religious and social figures, along with the general body of mourners of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, attend these gatherings and participate in commemorating the martyrdom of the Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him) and his loyal companions (peace be upon them).
The speakers at these ceremonies elaborate on the various dimensions of the Ashura movement and emphasize the necessity of drawing upon the teachings of the uprising of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) to strengthen religious, moral, and social values.
