In the district of Kadhimiya, Baghdad, Iraq, the Qasr Alzahra Peace be Upon Her Center—an affiliate of the religious authority—is currently holding mourning ceremonies for the first ten days of the month of Muharram 1448 A.H. The gatherings have drawn hundreds of followers of Prophet Muhammad and His Household, peace be upon them. Attendees are participating in religious lectures and traditional elegies, joining together to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his faithful companions, peace be upon them.
