The Ahlul Bayt Peace be Upon Them Husseiniyah in the holy city of Karbala, in Iraq, held its weekly mourning gathering in the presence of a number of believers.

The gathering began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the Tawassul supplication and the Ashura visitation. Scholar Sheikh Abbas Alnaseri then delivered a speech.

In his address, he examined the uprising of Mukhtar Althaqafi in the year 66 After the Prophet’s Migration. He also reviewed the uprisings that took place following the tragic events of Karbala and explained the major developments in the Islamic world and their impact on the collapse of Umayyad rule and the weakening of the foundations of Abbasid rule. Sheikh Alnaseri further highlighted the profound historical impact of the Karbala tragedy and discussed issues related to governance during the Abbasid period.
