A delegation from Alkhair and Albaraka Cultural Association, headed by Scholar Sheikh Miqdad Albaghdadi, visited the headquarters of the Faw-Zakho Gathering in Baghdad, Iraq, on Tuesday evening, October 6, 2026, where it met and held talks with Engineer Amer Abduljabbar, an independent member of the Council of Representatives and head of the gathering.
During the meeting, Scholar Sheikh Miqdad Albaghdadi highlighted the association’s national and political activities dating back to 1968 and outlined the developments that took place in the post-2003 period. He stressed the importance of continuing cultural and national efforts.
Engineer Amer Abduljabbar welcomed the visit and emphasized the independence of his political positions in the Council of Representatives, his opposition to the quota-based political system, and his commitment to defending the territorial integrity of Iraq.
The meeting continued with views presented by Suhaila Abdjafar, former Minister of Migration and Displaced Persons, and Ismail Aliakbar on the legal and social situation of Faili Kurds. The two sides agreed on the need to maintain communication and strengthen bilateral cooperation in humanitarian and cultural fields.
