Shia Rights Watch issued a statement condemning the recent terrorist attack by ISIS on innocent civilians in Afghanistan. The statement reads:
"The terrorist group ISIS committed a horrific crime against innocent civilians in a remote village in Afghanistan, resulting in the martyrdom of 14 people and the injury of four others. Human rights sources reported that the heinous crime took place as villagers of Qariyodal were welcoming pilgrims returning from Karbala. A video released by the organization showed the brutal execution of unarmed pilgrims after their capture. Shia Rights Watch strongly condemns this cowardly act of terrorism against the innocent people of Afghanistan and holds national authorities responsible for the safety of Shia Muslims. May Allah grant mercy and forgiveness to the victims and patience to their families. 'To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.'"
