On the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, thousands of grieving residents of Baghdad participated in a major mourning procession organized by the General Union of Hussaini Associations. The mourners marched with great solemnity through the streets leading to the holy shrine of the Two Kadhmayn Imams. Throughout the procession, participants raised chants to remember the hardships and oppression faced by Imam al-Sadiq. Upon reaching the sacred shrine, the mourning ceremonies continued with great fervor.
