On the occasion of the International Day of Nonviolence, the International Nonviolence Organization, affiliated with the Global Foundation of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husayni Shirazi, may Allah prolong his life, issued the following statement:

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
"Peace be upon you for your patience; excellent is the final home."

On October 2, the International Day of Nonviolence, the organization calls on the global conscience to renew its commitment to the principles of peace, justice, and compassion, which form the essence of humanity and all divine messages. This occasion is not merely a date in memory but a call to action to strengthen a culture of peace and Nonviolence worldwide.

Immediate Calls for Action

  1. Empower International Institutions and Human Rights Organizations:
We urge the United Nations, the Security Council, the International Criminal Court, and all human rights organizations to play a more decisive role, overcoming neutrality and double standards. These institutions must act as strong barriers against the spread of violence and war, holding perpetrators accountable without exception. Resolutions should be translated into practical actions, ensuring effective protection for civilians and victims worldwide.

  1. Call on Governments to Renounce Internal and External Violence:
We call on all authorities and governments to absolutely refrain from all forms of violence, whether against their own people through oppression, tyranny, or denial of rights, or against other countries through war, occupation, or illegal military interventions. The use of force to suppress dissent or resolve international disputes is both a moral and political failure. Dialogue and peaceful solutions must be the only means to address domestic and international conflicts.

  1. Commitment to Nonviolence as an Islamic and Human Approach:
Islam is a religion of peace, and the principles of Nonviolence are integral to its message. As stated in the Holy Quran:
"Do not transgress, for God does not love the transgressors."
This verse establishes the principle of non-aggression, emphasizing that violations of boundaries are not pleasing to God. The International Nonviolence Organization reaffirms its commitment to spreading this correct understanding of religion, which advocates mercy, justice, and benevolence as fundamental alternatives to all forms of violence or extremism.

On this day, we emphasize that peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice, equality, and human dignity. We call on all individuals, institutions, and countries to join us in building a world where Nonviolence is the rule, not the exception.

Nonviolence is a force that liberates, not destroys.
