The Al-Mustaqbal Center for Strategic Studies, affiliated with the Religious Authority in Holy Karbala, held its intellectual session at the headquarters of the Al-Naba Cultural and Media Institute under the title “Political Thought in Iraq Between the Alawi Heritage and the Challenges of the Contemporary Political System.” The session was attended by research center directors, university professors, and media professionals.

During the program, Professor Haider Al-Ajoudi, a researcher at the Al-Mustaqbal Center, presented his research paper. At the beginning of his talk, he referred to Iraq’s complex political and social situation, noting that despite institutional developments after 2003, fundamental questions regarding legitimacy, justice, and political responsibility remain unanswered. He emphasized that the Alawi heritage is not merely a historical legacy but a conceptual framework for governing power and organizing the ethical relationship between the ruler and the ruled. However, Iraq’s contemporary political reasoning faces a value-based disconnect, distancing it from the spirit of Alawi justice.
