On the final night of the month of Muharram, the Lady Um Albanin Institute, one of the centers affiliated with the Religious Authority in Iraq's Maysan Province, held a Husseini mourning gathering attended by a number of volunteers and followers of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
During the gathering, Scholar Sheikh Saad Darraji delivered a sermon reflecting on various aspects of the tragedy of Ashura. He recalled the heartbreaking events of the tenth day of Muharram in 61 AH, speaking about the oppression endured by Prophet Muhammad's Household, peace be upon them, and the immense hardships suffered by Lady Zaynab, peace be upon her, following the tragedy.
The ceremony concluded with elegies and traditional chest-beating led by Sayyid Abbas Bakhati, the believers renewed their commitment to preserving the values and message of Imam Hussein's sacrifice through mourning and remembrance.
