Gatherings to mourn Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), are continuing throughout the first ten days of 1448 at the Public Relations Office of the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi, may God grant him a long life, in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq. The events are attended by the believers, scholars, students, and faculty from the religious seminaries. These sessions are intended to keep the memory of the Karbala uprising alive and to reflect on the tribulations faced by the grandson of the Prophet. Each day, following a recitation from the Quran, Sheikh Rasoul Lami delivers a lecture. The ceremonies are marked by the passionate participation of the attendees and an atmosphere filled with sorrow and spirituality.
