With the arrival of the 2026 Fortieth Day Pilgrimage season, the Fortieth Day Pilgrimage mission of the Supreme Religious Authority Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi, may God prolong his life, officially began its activities in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq.

The mission was inaugurated on Monday evening, the fifth day of the month of Safar, during a ceremony commemorating the martyrdom of Lady Ruqayyah, peace be upon her. The event included congregational prayers and was attended by representatives of the Religious Authority, officials from affiliated institutions, members of the Religious Authority's offices in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, and the holy city of Qom, Iran, as well as a number of religious, social, and cultural figures.

Located on the street leading to the Qibla Gate of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in front of Sayyid Shuhada Peace be Upon Him Seminary, the mission will provide religious, cultural, and educational services to pilgrims throughout the Fortieth Day Pilgrimage season.

Its services include answering religious and doctrinal questions, providing religious guidance, holding question-and-answer sessions, organizing congregational prayers, distributing the publications of the Supreme Religious Authority, and welcoming scholars and representatives of senior religious authorities.
