The Lebanese National Council for Audiovisual Media held a broad meeting attended by directors and representatives of news platforms and electronic websites to discuss professional issues and the future of the country’s new media law.

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Information in Lebanon, was attended by Hussein Alshaaer, director of Alwayi Alshirazi Satellite Channel. He highlighted the important role of electronic media and emphasized the growing significance of these platforms and the need to focus on their available capabilities and potential.

Abdulhadi Mahfouz, head of the Lebanese National Council for Audiovisual Media, criticized rushing the preparation of the new media law and stressed the importance of adhering to professional standards, ensuring accuracy in publishing information, and avoiding sectarian and political incitement.

At the end of the meeting, participants also discussed the establishment of a media city in Lebanon aimed at supporting the economy, attracting investment, and developing media activities.
